TRAILBREAKER
Leading a crossing? Become a Trailbreaker.
Develop the capacity to help your team, organization, or community find its way through consequential change—together.
THE THRESHOLDSomething is changing. The way forward isn't yet clear.
Welcome to a consequential threshold.
Crossing a consequential threshold means moving beyond what is—or what has been—toward a future that has yet to take shape.
When a team, organization, or community must make that journey together, someone needs to tend the process of finding the way forward.
Trailbreaker is where you learn to facilitate a consequential crossing by facilitating your own—with your actual people, through actual decisions, toward a future that matters.
THE RESPONSIBILITYThe crossing belongs to your people. The responsibility to facilitate it may belong to you.
When a team or organization faces consequential change, the familiar response is to gather information, make a plan, build agreement, and get everyone moving.
Those things matter. But they aren't enough.
Because the terrain will change. New information will emerge. People will see things differently. Decisions will have consequences. And the way forward won't always be obvious.
Someone needs to tend more than the plan.
Someone needs to help the collective see what's happening, make sense of what it encounters, find sufficient direction to move, make consequential choices, and keep learning and adapting along the way.
